In 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts and converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, later gifting the property to Girl Scouts in her will. As the organizations founder and first benefactor, she began a 110+ year tradition of planned giving – making a gift beyond her lifetime. In memory of her bequest, the national Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who choose to make Girl Scouts part of their own legacies and a beneficiary of their estates.
As a Society member, you receive a number of benefits, including invitations to special events, a subscription to the Society newsletter, listing as a Society member in select Girl Scout publications, access to digital resources, and this special membership lapel pin. This Juliette Gordon Low Society lapel pin recognizes the society member in a very special way.
